FFA Announcements September 2-6

Wednesday September 3- All magazine orders are due to be turned in. Also, any student that is going to the State fair trip on Saturday September 6, must have their permission slip signed by the student and parent this day. Dues for FFA students going to the state fair should be paid on this date.

Friday September 5- Officer applications for 1st and 2nd year students are due on this day. They are to be signed by the student and parent.

Saturday September 6- State fair trip to Hutchinson. Leave time 6 a.m., return time 7 p.m.

Upcoming events: Greenhand Orientation meeting in the cafeteria at 7:00 for all parents and first year members. Greenhands will receive their FFA degree and officers will be installed, along with information about what the FFA program can offer students.

Lesson Plans for September 2-5

Ag Technology

September 2-5th paragraph of the FFA Creed due. This will be the last day spent in class on the creed. Students are required to have their creed said before September 16 for the Greenhand FFA degree. Last day to say the creed for a grade will be the last day of the quarter for the 1st 9-weeks.

September 3-Officer responsibilities

September 4- Officer parts

September 5- Unison part for class due. Officer applications for second and 1st year students due. Friday fun day, trivia game.

8th grade Ag

Septemeber 2- Power points over crops due to present in class. Students should have saved their power point on their flash drive or borrowed one from the library. Students will be expected to write down notes from each other's crop report with the sheet presented to them in class. Study guide for test on Friday will be given out today.

September 3- Power points continued. Students will select the three best presentations presented in class based on the classes vote.

September 4- Review for test on Friday.

September 5- Test over Introduction to Agriculture test.

Leadership Class

September 2- Prepare and plan for the Greenhand Orientation meeting on September 16. Go over officer parts.

September 3- Finish up on Greenhand Orientation planning, go back leadership unit that was started last week.

September 4- Leadership unit, personality traits to fill out on themselves

September 5- Friday CDE day. Work on Career Development Event of their choice.

Ag Construction

September 2- Mig welding continued, grade questions that were due last Friday.

September 3- Demonstration day

September 4- Test over Mig welding

September 5- Students go to shop and practice wire welding.

Small Engines

September 2- Review how to calculate cubic inches and horsepower. Finish up notes on compression.

September 3- Demonstration day on taking valves out

September 4- Demonstration day on valves, measurement and reinstallment

September 5- review day over compression for test next Tuesday.

FFA Announcements August 25-29

Students are selling Magazines until September 3. If students sell $175 of magazines the FFA chapter will pay their dues for them. If they sell $225, the chapter will purchase an FFA shirt for them. Students are to have paid their FFA dues by September 12.

FFA Anouncement

Students will start magazine sales on Thursday, August 21. A meeting will be during SSR/Seminar on this date to explain the process.

Lesson Plans for Aug. 18-22

Ag Tech- What is FFA. Handout to be filled out in class, test on Friday.

8th Grade A- Filling out hand out on "What is Agriculture" Worksheet wil be do on Friday.

Leadership Class-Know their opening ceremony parts. Work on informational sheet to hand out Thursday. Start discussing what a leader is.

Ag Construction-Students teaching a small unit that has been assigned over areas of arc welding. Test on Friday

Small Engines- Continue identifying parts of small engines and what they do. Students can expect a quiz about every 2 days over parts.
